Overview
Jabal al-Akrad is a mountainous area in western Syria within the coastal range. The name means “Mountain of the Kurds,” reflecting the long presence of Kurdish communities in the highlands.
The range forms part of the rugged terrain that rises from the Mediterranean coastal plain toward the interior.

Forested slopes, valleys, and small villages characterize the landscape. The area’s elevation and climate support orchards and small-scale farming.
